Home Assistant Device Hierarchy

How to use the new device hierarchy introduced by https://github.com/karwosts in the 2025.4 release of home assistant.

Go to your energy dashboard. Then edit one of your individual devices

Then you can select an upstream device. You can only select a device that is present on the Individual devices list

On the dashboard, the selected device is subtracted from the device it come from (untracked)

The upstream device must obviously have a greater value than the downstream devices, as they derive from it.
